Hakone Ekiden News Flash Banner

The “Hakone Ekiden News Flash Banner” is a new real-time broadcast experience using banners. GPS is installed in the coach's car, which runs right behind the athletes, and the location information of the athletes on the course is written from the GPS and moves in real time on the banner's map. In addition, the heated scenes of the Hakone Ekiden, such as “switching places,” “sectional prizes,” “sweeping the field,” and “carry-over start,” are captured in real-time in a flash report. A total of 102 banners reflecting the colors of each university's sash were distributed in real-time at a pace of one banner every six minutes (during the 11-hour race), and in as fast as 10 seconds (from generation to distribution).
